A Bit About Me
Dr. J. L. Adolph earned his Ph.D. in English/African Diaspora Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2018, with a dissertation on Fatherhood Narratives in Hip-hop Lyricism. A McNair Scholar and award-winning educator, he holds an MA from the University of Missouri and a BA in English with a minor in Africana Studies from Central Missouri State University. Dr. Adolph has served in diverse educational roles, including high school teacher, community college instructor, and now Assistant English Professor at Georgia State University – Perimeter College.
As the CEO of DadCypher Edutainment LLC, he equips educators to empower at-promise students through therapeutic writing and hip-hop pedagogy, boosting literacy, emotional intelligence, and career readiness. A recognized leader, Dr. Adolph’s innovative methods inspire transformative education for students and educators alike.
